Nervous System

The nervous system is of the utmost importance as its optimal function plays a vital role in nearly every aspect of the health, energy and wellbeing of the body. It transmits signals between the brain and the rest of the body, including internal organs. The nervous system's activity controls our ability to move, breathe, see, think, feel and more. It is responsible for automatic activities such as breathing and waking up and more complex processes such as thinking, reading, remembering and feeling emotions. It also controls our brain growth and development.

The nervous system is made up of cells or neurons and has two main parts:
• Central Nervous System (CNS) – made up of the brain and spinal cord. It uses electrical
and chemical means to help all parts of the body to communicate with each other.
- Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) – made up of nerves that branch off from the spinal
cord and extend to all parts of the body. It houses the autonomic nervous system which
regulates involuntary physiologic processes including heart rate, blood pressure,
respiration, digestion and sexual arousal. The autonomic nervous system is comprised
of two parts:
- Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) – activates the fight or flight stress response
during a threat or perceived danger.
- Parasympathetic Nervous System (PSNS) – activates the rest and digest
relaxation response and restores the body to a state of calm.

The nervous system can easily become out of balance due to stress, pain, fear, trauma,
shock, anger, frustration, busyness, over-thinking the past, over-planning the future,
anxiousness, chaos, fight-flight, being constantly “on” alert, frazzled, wired, rushing, over-tired, survival mode, disconnected from heart-body, not present, overwhelmed, scattered, lack of sleep, ungrounded, electromagnetic frequencies (i.e. mobiles, computers, Wi-Fi, 5G towers, electrical devices, transport, etc.) and environments with not enough natural Mother Earth grounding elements (i.e. too much concrete, busy city, stuck indoors).
Nature is paramount in healing the nervous system as it provides the space and healing
energy of the earth to balance the mind, body and soul and settle the body which is why so many people are drawn to the ocean, waterfalls, rivers, forests, mountains, countryside and the grounding outdoor energy of Mother Earth to rest, restore and heal their energy.

Everyday home reinforcement activities which anyone can do to assist maintaining a
settled and balanced Nervous System, in addition to the following protocol, include:
• Hugging – fulfills the human need for physical touch, helps reduce stress, brings
calmness to the body, boosts the immune system, increases oxytocin hormone.
• Magnesium Supplement – vital for the body and its functions and difficult to get through
food alone. Supports muscle and nerve function and energy production. Needed to
keep blood sugar and blood pressure at the right level. Makes protein, bone and DNA.
• Nature’s Healing Chi Energy – step outside into nature to ground yourself, or surround
yourself with nature items, i.e. water feature, peace lily or snake plant, salt lamp,
selenite crystal, shells or other treasures from nature to restore your energy. It is
beneficial to place these items near electronic devices to soak up emitted energies.
• Drinking Water – Staying hydrated eliminates toxins, assists the nervous system to
communicate with the body and improves brain health (memory, alertness and focus).
Having a balanced nervous system is essential to being present and feeling stable, centered, healthy and finding joy in life.

This kinesiology protocol integrates the spine, massage, acupressure points, essential oils, crystals, magnets and the breath to balance, settle and reset the entire nervous system.
